An Everyday Prayer for Forgiveness – Increase Your Ability to Receive
We don’t know how to forgive our self, ask for forgiveness that we need and esp. forgive others. I once heard my mentor saying that not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. That was a real eye opener for me.
Forgiveness is not about saying OK to what bad had happened to you. Forgiveness is about letting go of what you had thought in your consciousness about an unfavorable circumstance so that you can create a room in your ‘being’ for something new to take place. It’s about letting go of the past to create way for the new. Not saying that what happened was good or you should like it or accept it but instead you learn from it.
Forgiveness is not what you do for others but something that you do to yourself to raise your vibration and awareness.
Holding on from forgiving blocks our ability to receive. If you are a woman like me with dreams and desires, holding on to grudges caused by others and the self-imposed expectations not met by our self blocks our heart chakra. It also blocks our ability to access our feminine intuition. This is why it is utmost important to learn to forgive ourselves on a daily basis.
Forgiveness is not what you do once for 3 times a week and it is done. It is a constant practice and I personally say my forgiveness prayer every day as part of my daily meditation, which is what I wanted to share with you today.
I came across this beautiful forgiveness prayer in a book called ‘1 Question That Can Change Your Life’ and created a little video for you to read along every day.
Use this video to tune in to your forgiveness on a daily basis and you will notice the difference. At first you might feel teary and emotional but I insist you to carry on with this prayer and after saying it along for only a few days I am sure you will feel extremely liberated. It would be like shedding this load of invisible emotional baggage that we have been carrying all around throughout the many years. You will feel expanded and when you feel expanded you are able to receive easily.

♥ ♥ Here’s the Forgiveness Prayer for you ♥ ♥
I forgive myself
For having made all the mistakes
Had I known better, I would have chosen differently
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For having felt hurt when I didn’t feel loved and wanted
They never promised me they would, so it was just my unmet expectation
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For believing them when they said I’m unworthy
They didn’t see my light and spoke out of their shadows
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For feeling scared and getting hurt when they acted out their anger
I know now it was not about me – it was their inability to cope with life better
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For the suffering when I felt I don’t belong
It made me journey inwards and find my spirit, my true home
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For feeling let down
They did what they believed was ok – my hurt came from what I wanted from them
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For having believed that my love is worthless
My love is precious – but they were too hurt to open up to it
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For having learnt not to love myself
I accepted it was right not to care about myself, but now I know who I am
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For taking things as directed against me
They were just events that took place because the doers were not happy with their life
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For having given my power away, letting them decide for myself
I felt fear or didn’t know better, but now I’m ready to learn
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For having expressed hurtful judgments of myself, which made me judge others too
I’ve finally tasted the sweetness of love over the bitterness of the critique-poison
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
For believing I’m unable, I’m small, I don’t count
I allow myself to acknowledge the truth that I have gifts and I’m worthy
So I forgive myself.
I forgive myself
That it took me so long to learn to forgive
But I was willing to learn
So now I forgive and start to respect myself.
